Yet Another Sentimental Poem...

I'd cry to move you
But I'd be a fake
I'd sing your praises
But with my voice, that'd be a mistake
I'd choke on the words I want to say
It's just too bad "love" affects me this way

I hear music from another room
Piano dropping tears of ice
A woman singing, softly softly
And she begins to sob
Crying out the words
I so want to say
Pleading with the sound
Why must we always fear?
She awaits someone to come and save her
Just as I await someone to come for me

Cry, sweet child, cry
And I'll cry with you
We can cry together as we walk through the woods
Water the flowers as we walk
Visit a sunny graveyard where little birds sing
Cry as we work
Burying our fears
Cry for the long, wasted years
Cry for ourselves, for our tears
Smile and sob, laugh and choke
Holding each other tight as our world goes up in smoke
